COVID Phase -1 “Food Security”

In 2020, a nationwide curfew was imposed from March due to the outbreak of the “Corona Virus”. In this period, schools, colleges, sources of income, businesses all came to a standstill. Many migrants began to return to their hometowns. Many families in the community were facing starvation due to continuous lockdown and lack of employment opportunities. This included the elderly, disabled, single women, agricultural laborers, migrant families, and economically backward sections. There were many villages in Sangola taluka where people needed food grains.

There were many villages in Sangola taluka where people needed food grains. 

Organization activist made sure to protect themselves at the same  not to spread disease in community. Active presentation about the relief work in social media, resulted in many hands of support (individuals) in every manner and brought in loads of appreciation. Communication with the administration, selection of the right beneficiaries, participation of the local people made the process easier and the relief work reached the needy family.It was the first in Maharashtra to provide cooked meal in collaboration with CASA, which was appreciated by the government and administration level. Block development officer, local leaders, police administration have made direct visits to boost the morale of the organization’s workers to work in times of disaster.
